Official Opening of Our New Facility in Kalmar, Sweden!

We have officially inaugurated our new facility in Kalmar, Sweden. During the opening ceremony, speeches were given, concluding with a toast and a ribbon-cutting. Throughout the day, lunch was provided, and attendees had the opportunity to tour the premises and interact with NTM staff.

Business Transition

For a star to be born, another must fade away. Norba, with a history dating back to the 1870s and manufacturing garbage trucks since 1937, is being phased out. GeesinkNorba, as Norba is known today, has gone bankrupt in the Netherlands, and its subsidiaries are now being divested. At NTM, we have undertaken a business transition of the Swedish company, taking over the staff, the property in Kalmar, equipment, and spare parts.

A Historic Event for NTM

This is a milestone for NTM, as we welcome experienced colleagues with hundreds of years of expertise in garbage truck manufacturing and aftermarket services. This initiative will strengthen our presence in the Nordic market, with improved aftermarket services and our own production facility in our largest market, Sweden.

NTM Kalmar

The Kalmar region has a long tradition of garbage truck manufacturing and high competence within the industry. We plan to hire 30-40 new employees over a two-year period and eventually manufacture between 150-200 units per year, with all assembly taking place in Kalmar. We will also collaborate with local subcontractors, leveraging the region's expertise and growing together.

Thanks to Everyone Involved!

NTM thanks everyone who has contributed to this process. Our new colleagues for their willingness to collaborate, our current colleagues for their support and welcoming attitude. Thanks also to our new landlord, Kalmar Municipality, and our professional suppliers and partners. Last but not least, a big thank you to our customers for your continued trust and support. We will continue to strive to be the best possible supplier for you.
